On June 26, 2025, the Collin County Area REALTORS® and MetroTex Association of REALTORS® Boards of Directors have voted to recommend a Plan of Merger between CCAR and MetroTex to the membership. The ultimate decision to merge now moves to you, our REALTOR® members. 

 

REALTOR® members will have the opportunity to cast their vote either by proxy or in-person. Details on how to vote can be found in your email. If you have questions about any aspect of the process, we invite you to submit an inquiry below.

At every Member Information Session, leadership from both associations will be on hand to share more about the merger and answer your questions live and in person. Registration is requested.

THE VOTE

In July, both associations will host a Meeting of the Members.

REALTOR® members can refer to their email for details on their association's meeting date, time, and location.

This meeting is your official opportunity to cast your vote on the proposed merger.

Can’t make it in person? No problem.

Every REALTOR® member will receive a proxy ballot by email before the meeting date. This secure proxy system ensures your voice is counted, even if you can’t attend the meeting. Whether you vote by proxy or in person, your participation is essential to shaping the future of our association.

COMMON QUESTIONS

I'm an Affiliate member. Can I cast my vote?
Q:

Both Association's bylaws stipulate that you must hold a REALTOR® membership to participate in the voting process. Only Affiliate members who also hold a REALTOR® membership with that association will be allowed to participate.

Will my dues go up?
Q:

Dues for 2026 and Q1 MLS will be set to the lowest amount between the two associations unless NTREIS changes its fee structure. Following that period, the unified association will function as usual, following the Board's recommendations.

What will the association name be?

The merged association will be named “MetroTex Association of REALTORS®”.

Is the merger already a done deal?
Q:

No. The ultimate decision to merge is in the hands of our members. REALTOR® members will have the opportunity to cast their vote either by proxy or in-person. Details on how to vote can be found in your email.

Will this cause any interruption to my MLS or eKey access?  
Q:

Both associations will work together to ensure a smooth transition, so you have continued access to the tools and resources you need.

Will jobs be lost?

No. All staff from both associations will have a role in the merged association.

Will CCAR’s Plano location remain open?  
Q:

Absolutely. Both associations' current headquarters will remain open and accessible to all members. Ensuring convenient access to resources and education across the metroplex remains a top priority.
